Frequently Asked Questions and Other Common Issues
Why Just .stl Files?
Different printers have different settings and ideal print orientations. That is why only the .stl files are provided. The orientation, supports, and slice file creation is up to the end user to determine based on what is best for their machine.
How Many Times Can I Download a Purchased Model?
Each purchase allows for 3 downloads before the link expires. I believe this is a fair amount and should account for any technical issues that could arise during the download process, or potential losses through accidental deletion on the customers end. I encourage everyone to make copies of purchased files in whatever way suits them. Data that isn't backed up is data that will be lost!
My Download Link Stopped Working
There are rare instances when backend work on the digital downloads application used on this site causes download links to expire. If your download link gives you a '404' error (and you have not exceeded the 3 download limit), reach out through the 'contact' page, and a new download link will be sent to you.
Why Don't You Model 'X' Subject?
Suggestions are fine, and you can always reach out through the 'contact' page. Keep in mind the amount of references needed to make an accurate model, so rare subjects with no drawings and only a few blurry images are unlikely to be made.
Can I Convert a Model Into Another Scale?
Upscaling, for example a 1/35 model to 1/16 probably won't be an issue, you just may not have the level of detail expected for a larger scale. But if that's acceptable to you and your printer has the room, you can certainly try. Downscaling however is not recommended. Detail parts for all of these designs run close to the limits of what can be printed easily. So when they are shrunk down further, there is a much greater chance of print and part failure during assembly. Again, you can try, but there are no guarantees printing out of scale.
Some of These Parts Are Too Large for My Computer to Handle
Typically track and hull assemblies are quite large files and can be an issue on older computers. Reach out to me through the 'contact' page and I can re-export the offending parts at a lower quality setting to limit file size. Keep in mind this will increase chances of visible faceting on printed parts.
What is the User Agreement for Digital Files?
By purchasing digital files you agree that they are for personal use only, and that the files are not to be shared or used for any sort of commercial purposes.
I'm Having Issues Logging Into my Account
Reach out to me through the 'contact' page and I can send you a reset password email.
Why Do I Need to be Logged In to Make a Purchase?
This is due to spam/bots making fake accounts and fraudulent purchases to test out stolen credit card information. Forcing customers to be logged in to make a purchase is the only way I've been able to reliably combat this issue.
