LMD038 - T-27 Artillery Tractor

Based on the British Carden Loyd the Soviets created the T-27 tankette. Production started in 1931 with over 2,000 being built. Despite it's thin armor, light armament and cramped interior, the T-27 proved to be simple and reliable and remained in service until 1941. As the vehicles combat limitations became evident, a number were converted for use as prime movers. Railings and steps were added for gun crew seating on the rear of the vehicle, with two additional stowage boxes added on top of the sponsons. Now for the first time this vehicle is available in 1/16 scale. The completed model comes in at about 6.5" (165mm) long, so even in this larger scale it won't take up too much room in the display case.
